'PR' Kona's SisuNami
'PR' Kona's SisuNami is the very first Alaskan Klee Kai born in our kennelette, and is the first to bear the "Kona's" name. Sisu comes from UKC Grand Champion parents, and appears to have gotten all of their wonderful qualities. She's a black and white, double brown eyed beauty who will likely grow up to be a mini. She is out going, very smart, and loves people and other dogs. She will grow up to be a Therapy Dog, and we see great things for her future in the conformation ring. We are very excited to watch her grow, and know she will be a great representation of the Alaskan Klee Kai breed.

Sisu is a talker just like her mom, but she got some very cute traits from her daddy too! The favorite is her happy face- she runs around with this wide open mouth with a big grin. She's a very happy go lucky puppy and avid bug hunter who loves the outdoors.
Update:Sisu is one year old today- and boy has the year gone fast! We're going to celebrate by taking her and her little brother (yes, she has a little brother now- an all white AKK named Zappa from Kika's Kennels) to the Dog Beach at Huntington Beach (by far their favorite place to spend an afternoon) then we'll head to the Three Dog Bakery in Newport Beach before we hit some fancy pet boutiques for some new toys and bully sticks (the favorite chew). What a perfect way to celebrate a birthday!
Sisu has grown into a beautiful dog who still catches the eye of everyone she meets. She's also turned into a very friendly girl who loves to meet people and is always gentle with children.
Now that everyone has settled into their new Southern California life Sisu is finally going to start going to dog events! Her people are filling out their AKKAOA membership form and Sisu will be at the show in Claremont in July (though not to compete just yet!) She's very excited to start getting a little more active with dogs in her area but can't decide yet if she'd rather do weight pulling or agility or even both. Right now she's leaning towards weight pulling since she's a real "suburban sled dog" who loves to "mush" on every walk (she would like me to add here that she will heel if you ask her nicely)! We couldn't have asked for a better, more beautiful or more loving dog.
Happy Birthday, Sisu! ___
Sisu visits the beach often! She is growing up so far to be Storm's splitting image.
Sisu had her very first day at the beach! We took her down to Newport Beach early in the morning (dogs aren't allowed at some of the bigger beaches between 9a and 5p). She was very excited by all the smells and she loved that the birds would run away from her. It'll be interesting to see what she does when she runs into a huge pelican! She loved running in the sand but didn't want to get her feet wet and would run away from all the waves. She really loved it though!
She's had a couple baths, mostly after a dig in the dirt and she doesn't enjoy them too much but does alright. She has gotten pretty good with sit, down, stay, come, and we're working on "paw" and "dance." She's all signed up for her puppy class that starts in about a week and we're anxious to get her going with meeting more dogs! She is proving herself to be very smart which is a blessing and a curse all at the same time. She responds very quickly to any change in training tactics and we're pretty good at recognizing any issues before they become problems.
